Bujagali Falls
A prey to greed!
President Museveni wants to meet MPs over Bujagali!

Typical of greed and misguided decisions of African leadership, the decision to build a dam at Bujagali in Jinja is going to destroy this first class magnificent treasure of Uganda and Africa as a whole.

Inspite of the outcries and pleas being made by both the local communities of Bujagali and indeed by very many people who appreciate the beauty of nature the decision to destroy Bujagali falls is being rushed and imposed on Uganda for the sake of guaranteeing unceasing revenue for the foreign investors.

We do know that apart from less than a handful Ugandans who have been biased by the investor in one way or the other in believing that damming Bujagali is going to be good for all Ugandans, millions inside Uganda and abroad have not been told the whole story! bujagali1.jpg (69175 bytes)

White water rafting has become a very popular sport for both local Ugandans and the Uganda's tourists.

Although, the Nile and the Bujagali Falls have been in existence for as long as the Almighty God endowed Uganda with this world wonder, the white water rafting sport on the Nile has just been discovered, thanks be to the peace and stability in the country. bujagali2.jpg (56978 bytes)

This spectacular falls are the only one of their kind in the whole of the world, with water falls throughout the year.    This scenic virgin beauty of the Bujagali falls will be lost for ever once the leadership in Uganda allows this treasure to be dug up. You and your children will never dream of ever having the opportunity to experience this magic of nature. Bujagali falls will  be no more!

A number of concerned citizens in Uganda have been trying to bring pressure to bear on the leadership in Kampala not to let this beauty and cultural heritage be destroyed, when indeed Uganda can have both the dam and Bujagali falls.
We are reproducing here below the documents and pleas that have been made both in the media and Parliament to save the Bujagali falls. By reading the views of the concerned citizens, you also will be able to be informed about the issues at hand. We would like to invite you to add your voice to the "Save Bujagali" effort by registering your vote by sending an e-mail to the coordinator Mr. Martin Musumba on bujagali@cyberworld.co.ug
